THE RIGHT KIND OF LOVE
As a charity organization, we are an extension of love.
On the 14th of February, 2018 Arm of Hope Foundation with a team of volunteers visited government primary schools within Port-Harcourt, the Rivers state capital. The team visited The State Primary School, Olanada, Rumuola, where students in primary four, five and six were sensitized in an interactive session about the dangers of molestation and sexual abuse and what the right kind of love entails. The children received so much information including how to identify a sexual predator, the various stop signs on their bodies; what areas should be completely out of bounds to sexual prowlers and how to handle molestation and sexual abuse. There was a wave of excitement in the air and the children could not hide their joy as they received the colorful pens crested with the AHF Logo. After the session AHF team took photographs with the students of the various classes and their teachers. The teachers commended the effort of the foundation and applauded the team for taking time out of their busy schedules to show love to the children.
After the state primary school, the team made their way down to the Command Primary School, GRA. The Head teacher welcomed the team and readily made available access to the children despite no prior knowledge. Once again, children of the command primary school were engaged in an interactive session with the team after which they received their pens.
It was a pleasing, gratifying and rewarding experience knowing that each child we encountered was shown love equally, sensitized on the sign of molestation and sexual abuse and how to guard against sexual predators.
